Hello everyone! If you want to know more about us, you’re in the right place. First of all, I’ll try to tell you a little bit more about how this “Mezcal Photography” project was born.
So let me introduce myself:
My name is Danie. I’m the creator of this wonderful experience called Mezcal Photography. I’m also the main photographer with years of experience in destination wedding photography and special events. I’ve worked for several photography businesses and well known photographers here in Cancun and in the Riviera Maya. Mezcal started when I finally decided to start my own journey as an independent photographer.
Mi biggest passions in life are photography and filmmaking, which is why some of my pictures may look like if they were taken out of a movie frame! I like to consider myself as an artist, I used to play the saxophone (probably not very well) and sometimes I work as a director assistant in movie films. #funfact – I’m also the owner of a turtle named Cala. I love what I do and I hope I could share this amazing journey with you.
Now, we’re a group of talented photographers with tons of experience in weddings, special events and studio portraits. We’re located mostly in Cancun and Playa del Carmen but we work all around the Riviera Maya and we’re willing to do destination photos all around Mexico too!
We’re in love with our country, with photography and with love. This is why we mostly do wedding photography here in Mexico. Nevertherless, we’re also excited about corporate events, family portriaits and group vacation pictures. Ask about all our services!
Why did I decide to call it “Mezcal“?
Well, this is an easy one! I just didn’t want to call it as everyone does “put your name here photography“; I wanted it to be different, creative and mostly “mexicanish”, something that reflected the beauty of my country and also, that would give credit to everyone that works with me, as I said before, we’re a group of people and we’re all dedicated to make your memories last forever, not only me.
The Mezcal is a distilled beverage made from the heart of the agave plant native to Mexico. The word mezcal comes from Nahuatl mexcalli. It is mostly made in Oaxaca, one of my favorite places in Mexico. I found an interesting website with cool information about it, just in case you want to learn more: http://www.freundevonfreunden.com/journal/mezcal/
About our services
So if you got this far, probably you already know what we do and you’ve seen some of our work. We know you might have some questions so here I’m going to try to answer most of the frequently asked questions we’ve got.
Do you only do wedding photography?
No! We actually do a lot of different types of photography. If there’s something you’d like, just ask! We do pregnancy, babies, corporate events, group vacation pictures, save the date, boudoir and more!
Do you photoshop the pictures?
Yes, we do edit them. We pay attention mostly to the frame and the lightning and sometimes we might photoshop you just in case it’s completely necessary. For example, if we take a super close up, and you have a pimple on the face, then we would take it away for you! If there’s some special photoshop needed it has to be said right away (if it’s possible, even before the event) but it might be charged extra depending on the complexity of it and your package.
Do you keep the rights of the photos? Are you going to share them online?
Yes! Some of our packages even include an online gallery, which is public. We sometimes share our favorite pictures in our social media or might print them for marketing or advertising purposes. In case you don’t want your pictures to be shared it’s totally fine but it’s very important to say it before signing the contract.
Do you have more than one wedding per day?
No, I’m the main photographer and unfortunately I still haven’t discovered how to split me in two! 🙁
Where can I see your prices?
We just recently launched an online store where you can see all of our packages and even book your date right away if needed! Just click the packages & prices link. If you choose to do it this way, please read al the instructions to see if your date is available. If it’s better for you, you can also send us an email requesting our pricing list and I’ll be pleased to send it to you. Please don’t forget to mention you wedding date, your names and what you’re looking for (aprox. how many hours, if it’s possible your schedule, and location) so I can send you the package that better suits your wishes.
When will my photos be ready?
Well, your complete package will take from 5 to 7 weeks to be ready depending on the current workload. However, you might have already noticed that after every wedding we’re just very excited to share the pictures so you’ll get to see some of them a lot before.
What do I need to do to book my date?
First of all, you should send us all the information related to your event (date, schedule, location, hour, etc). The date is very important to be sure we haven’t booked yet. Then I will help you to decide the best package according to your needs. After that, we’ll sign a contract. To ensure your date a 50% payment will be required.
If you have more questions please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. I hope you like our pictures and don’t forget to follow us on our social media! Please feel free to look around.
